Clouds Weaving Dawn Light, Mirror Lake Reflecting Glow – A Sunrise Morning at Sun Moon Lake’s Chaowu Pier

On the early morning of April 21st, I waited for the sunrise at Chaowu Pier. I arrived at the scene around 4:30 AM, quietly waiting for the sky to change. Close to 5 o’clock, the sky had already turned from the darkness of night into a soft blue color. The lake surface had gentle ripples, swaying lightly in the morning breeze.

Although the clouds were thick and I couldn’t capture the classic scene of the sun rising from the mountaintop, nature gave me another surprise. The clouds, mountains, and lake kept changing their light and shadows in the morning light. Every moment had its own beauty. I first recorded the natural movement of the lake surface, then switched to a slow shutter speed. Time froze in my lens, and the lake water instantly became a perfect mirror.

What I remember most is the moment when the sun was about to break through the clouds. The cloud layers slowly turned into a soft orange-yellow color, gently spreading across the sky like the whole sky was being softly touched. That peaceful and magnificent feeling made all the early morning waiting worth it.
