On May 29th, 2025, I visited Yakryeongsi in Daegu, a charming district steeped in traditional Korean medicine culture. The day was blessed with gentle sunshine and clear skies, with a soft breeze that made it perfect for leisurely strolling and photography.
The streets had a pleasant flow of visitors, maintaining a lively atmosphere while preserving its peaceful charm. What caught my eye most were the thoughtfully designed medicinal pot art installations in front of the Yakryeong Museum. These various-sized pot sculptures beautifully echoed Yakryeongsi’s historic identity as a traditional herbal medicine street.
The piece that touched me most was a medicinal pot bearing the inscription “所願成就” (May All Wishes Come True). Standing before it, I captured the moment with my camera while quietly making a wish of my own. These simple yet profound characters seemed to carry the hopes of every passerby, wishing that everyone’s dreams may be fulfilled.
Here, ancient medicinal culture blends seamlessly with modern artistic creativity, creating a beautiful harmony between tradition and contemporary life.
