A Late Chase for the Sunset
On the evening of June 4th, 2025, I arrived at Busan Songdo Sky Park cable car station. The weather was clear with blue skies – perfect for sunset photography.
However, I got there at 5:30 PM, and the sun started setting quickly just as I finished setting up my camera. Watching that brief golden moment around 6 PM slip away, I felt disappointed. After all, I came here for the sunset.
The Last Sunset Silhouette
Not ready to give up, I decided to walk down near Yonggung Sky Walk to catch the last bit of the sunset. Luckily, I made it in time and captured some beautiful sunset silhouettes – the orange-red sun sitting perfectly between tree leaves, creating a natural frame.
A Healing Encounter at Yonggung Sky Walk
After taking those photos, I walked to the entrance of Yonggung Sky Walk and found a group of cats relaxing there. A gentle breeze was blowing, and they moved around lazily. The scene felt so peaceful. Even though I missed the full sunset, meeting these lovely creatures made me feel much better. I decided to go back to the rooftop and stay a little longer.
The Magic of Blue Hour
Around 6:40 PM, the sky began to change. After the sun disappeared below the horizon, the sky slowly turned into soft blue and purple tones. Then orange, pink, and purple colors layered together beautifully. This was my first time seeing the “blue hour” in person, and the surprise was beyond words – the sky could be this beautiful.
A Romantic Meeting with the Little Prince
Even more surprising was discovering the Little Prince art installation on the rooftop. The yellow-toned Little Prince silhouette against the purple and yellow blue hour sky felt like stepping into a fairy tale. This unexpected encounter created a scene more magical than any sunset.
Between Loss and Gain
Sometimes we think we’ve lost something, but if we wait patiently, we often find something even more beautiful. The sunset silhouette through the leaves, the healing cats, the amazing blue hour, and the romantic Little Prince – these unexpected surprises became the most precious memories of this trip.
Isn’t travel like this? While planned beautiful views are valuable, those unexpected surprises often become the most unforgettable moments.
