On February 27th, as winter was drawing to a close, I stepped onto the futuristic landscape of Odaiba, seeking to witness the embodiment of my childhood dream—the Unicorn Gundam. Throughout my day-long photography journey, the blue sky provided the perfect backdrop as sunlight generously bathed the 18-meter mechanical giant, bringing life to every metallic joint.
Despite the moderate crowd, nothing could interfere with the silent conversation between me and the Gundam. Standing before it, the passion accumulated since childhood surged like a flood, and I could almost hear my heartbeat harmonizing with the imagined roar of the Gundam’s engine. It was truly magnificent! Every detail of the mecha was perfectly rendered, as if a hero had stepped right out of the anime.
Most unforgettable was the moment when the golden sunset light fell upon its horn, creating a dazzling reflection, illuminating the ever-burning lamp in my heart. Though growing up made me realize how unrealistic the anime plots were, that youthful passion for saving the world and those beliefs have genuinely shaped my life’s path. In that instant, I wasn’t just photographing a model—I was capturing the moment when I reunited with my dreams.
