In this spring April, I followed my photography class back to my hometown, Lukang. On April 12th, the sky was draped with a light gray veil – overcast but not oppressive, as if adding a touch of mystery to the ancient buildings.
The Lukang Folk Culture Museum, a place I had never set foot in before, has been quietly existing in my hometown all these years. This photography trip felt like a reunion with my roots. With few visitors that day, the space was peaceful and intimate, allowing me to appreciate every detail of each corner.
What impressed me most was the unique architectural style here – a garden design that blends Chinese and Western elements, telling the story of Lukang’s cultural fusion. Every frame captured through my lens was like turning pages of hometown memories, memories that felt both unfamiliar yet intimate to me.
Through my camera, I saw a side of Lukang I had never noticed before. Sometimes, we need to look through an observer’s eyes to discover the beauty we’ve always overlooked.
